Academy One Punctuality Procedure for 2006/2007 School Year
Objective: To produce a culture of punctuality among students, and a personal responsibility for attendance through the Punctuality Procedure measured by a reduction in tardiness and absenteeism.
Punctuality defined
punc·tu·al (adj).
Acting or arriving exactly at the time appointed; prompt.
We love you! And you must love education as much and more! We expect students to arrive to homeroom on time daily. On time is 9:10AM.
Students that are late:
* Must have a pass to enter homeroom.
* Must give that pass to their homeroom teacher, Mrs. Sanchez, or Mr. Graham.
* Must stay for at least ½ hour after school. That’s right 1 minute late = 30 minutes after school (As you can see we are not very good in math).
* A phone call will be made home informing families what time you arrived at school.
Important facts to know about punctuality:
* One can’t learn if they are not present.
* One can’t be present if they are not on time.
* Students that are on time daily have a greater chance of getting the honor roll.
* Punctual students generally get better jobs making more money.
* People that are disciplined to be punctual are generally more reliable and organized.
* Punctuality generates great self-confidence.
* The homeroom(s) that has NO TARDIES for a MONTH will have a pizza party.
